Our In-country partners
ISHGs and their support structure: AGE Myanmar strengthens and works with community-based organisations known as Inclusive Self-Help Groups (ISHGs). Myanmar’s network has grown to 310 ISHGs across seven states/regions and has remained active during periods of conflict. ISHGs focus on empowering vulnerable populations and are led primarily by older people and people with disabilities, while drawing in all parts of the community and all age groups. As shown in the pyramid below, supporting and representing the community ISHGs are Township Network Committees (TNCs) and Regional Network Committees (RNCs), which act as bridges, enabling ISHGs to tap into wider networks and resources while providing monitoring, coaching, and support.
Older People Foundation: The OPF is the apex representative body of the structure shown in the diagram. The OPF supports the Regional and Township Network Committees while coordinating with AGE Myanmar, civil society, and other national bodies.

Myanmar Ageing Network: This is the national network of CSOs working on ageing in Myanmar, of which AGE Myanmar is a member. The Myanmar Ageing Network was established on June 26, 2015 and works closely with like-minded organisations, including AGE Myanmar, on ageing-related issues.
